This last work assignment led me back to a familiar place…the United Kingdom…you see 14 years ago as a young 20 something adventurous young woman I had the opportunity to move to the UK for six months with my job although then I lived in the midlands, Leicester to be exact and this trip brought me to Plymouth in the Southwestern part of the country.
It felt good to be back, like I never left š the rain, driving on the left side of the road, remembering which way to look when you cross the street, hearing “Cheers” and those English accents, the apple pies at McDonalds that are still made the old way with the hard crust and did I say rain lol.
No six month stint this time however anytime I get to come back it’s always fun. I enjoyed Plymouth, didn’t know too much about it before I got here other than it’s where the Mayflower departed from. Although I didn’t do as much sightseeing in the town the parts I did see were nice and being that it’s right on the water the seafood was EVERYTHING!!!!!! I MEAN EVERYTHING!!!!!! For a pescatarian like myself I’d say that was the highlight of the trip well the UK part anyways….
